Description
The BLAST Technique® has been described as “EMDR on steroids!”, it has been created, developed and refined to work faster and more effectively with PTSD and trauma utilising the brain’s natural processing systems, rather than only using ‘bilateral stimulation’ or being a ‘confusion technique’.
Most people think of trauma and PTSD of being caused by specific major experiences in life such as sexual or physical assaults, robberies and muggings, accidents, narcissistic abuse, terrorist attacks, military life or the diagnosis of a life-threatening illness. These are often called big T trauma.
However, there are many other experiences and situations in life that can cause you to be traumatised. In many cases having a heart attack, heart surgery or cardiac arrest is a traumatic experience. By trauma, I mean that the experience (memory) in your life hasn’t been fully processed and is still impacting your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours a long time after the event. These may be called little t trauma.
All in all, though, they are all traumatic and if they have changed how you think, feel and behave then they are still having an impact on your happiness and ability to live your life the way you want to.
To find out more about the process read my articles What is the Cardiac Trauma Reprocessing Technique? and The Cardiac Trauma Reprocessing BLAST Technique®: Everything You Need to Know.
Here are some more examples of where this technique has been effective and successful:
For some people, it is clear what has caused the changes in their thoughts and behaviours. If you are unsure the BLAST® technique can help here too. I can work with you to identify the root cause of your feelings so they can be processed correctly.
You won’t forget that the event happened, you will just be able to think about it, remember it and not have an intense physical and emotional response as you did prior to the session.
Be reassured that you that are not alone. You can feel calm, confident, that you have control and be able to release the past. Feeling different to how you do now is inevitable, change is constant.
Most single layer trauma can be released in just one session. More complex multi-layer issues may require up to 4 sessions.
Once I receive your request and payment you will receive a download with a link to my calendar. You can then choose a mutually convenient date and time for our session. This can be in person or via zoom. I look forward to meeting you.
You can always email if you would like to know more before booking a session sallie@myheartandmind.co.uk
