Core Transformation is a gentle and kind process for healing and transforming feelings, thoughts, and behaviours after a heart attack or when going through heart surgery. During recovery, it is not unusual to feel conflicted about how you feel, your emotions and how you live your life.

I am sure that you know when there’s something that you are doing or feeling or thinking that isn’t working and is causing you some kind of problem. If this was within your conscious control, you’d have already changed it.

But just consciously knowing about it hasn’t changed it. It’s like you’re on automatic pilot. When something happens automatically like that, it’s as if a part of us is doing it unconsciously even though consciously we don’t want it to happen. This is where the Core Transformation process can help you.

Many people experience a feeling that they have lost their old life after a heart attack or heart surgery. They are unsure of what the future holds and what their purpose is, and if they will be able to achieve the things they used to do or want to do going forward. Sometimes they have difficulty with lifestyle changes to reduce their risk factors. Recovery isn’t just physical; your mental and emotional health also needs time to adjust and heal. Here are some ideas of what you can work with to help you on your journey from survivorship to thrivership so you can live your life happy.

  • Do you feel like you’re glad to be alive and yet also feel like what you’ve been thought is the end of your world?
  • Do you want to make dietary changes, quit smoking or exercise more and yet part of you doesn’t and therefore you don’t?
  • Do you get stuck in an unpleasant emotion or mood such as depression, anger, rage, grief, jealousy, hurt, fear, anxiety, loneliness, emptiness, or intimidation?
  • Do you have difficulty feeling your emotions?
  • Do you lack a sense of who you are?
  • Do you suspect that your heart condition or other physical illness could be related to unexpressed emotion or stress?
