Thank you for joining me for our Relaxamation session “I Have the Right to Be Happy”.
If you don’t know what a Relaxamation is and you’re curious about how it can help you then you may want to listen to Relaxamations Explained – The Big Calm & The Feel-Good Factor. You can also read about it too.
Do not listen to a relaxamation while driving or operating machinery.
All you need to do now is get ready to drift off and relax, taking time out for yourself and let any tension float away. Get yourself comfortable at a time when you won’t be interrupted. Set your phone to do not disturb. Press play and place your hands loosely in your lap.

You have the Right to Be Happy
Happiness can sometimes feel like something that belongs to our old life—before the diagnosis… before the surgery… before everything changed.
When you’re living with heart disease or recovering from a heart attack, cardiac arrest, or surgery, it’s easy to slip into the belief that happiness is something for “other people.” That you need to wait until you’re fully better… until the fear has passed… until you feel like your old self again.
But here’s words I want you to hear clearly today:
- You don’t have to wait to feel happy.
- You have the right to be happy—right now—as you are.
- Happiness isn’t the absence of illness, or pain, or uncertainty.
- Happiness can live alongside all of that.
- It can be found in a cup of tea, a warm breeze, a quiet breath, or a deep belly laugh—even on difficult days.
Today’s session is to help you reconnect with that truth
It’s a gentle space where your body can rest, your mind can soften, and your heart can remember what it already knows:
You are allowed to feel good. You are allowed to feel joy. You are allowed to feel happy.
So, after today…
- You will have a simple and calming way to return to yourself.
- You will have permission—given by yourself—to pursue joy, peace, and contentment.
- You will be reminded that even in the midst of uncertainty, you can still feel hope.
- You will be more open to recognising and creating moments of light in your everyday life.
- You will be softer, more centred, and more confident in your right to feel good.
- And you’ll do more of what brings you energy—because you’ll know that you deserve to.
Here’s some affirmations and self reflection questions to find out more about your beliefs around your right to be happy today:
Your affirmations:
Say your affirmations 5 times each as a set. Repeat your set of affirmations at least once a day.
The more you use them the bigger the impact. Add them to a habit that you do every day. While cleaning your teeth, driving, running, walking your dog, washing the dishes, when you first wake up or the last thing at night.
1. I have the right to be happy
2. I decide what helps me live my life to the fullest
3. I am free to be happy every day
Your self-reflection questions are:
Use these reflection questions to delve a little deeper and get to know yourself better. You can use them as prompts for journaling, during meditation or just give yourself a few moments of time to consider.
1. Which ways can I exhibit my right to be happy today?
2. In what ways can I say yes to myself today?
3. How can I look and step outside of my comfort zone?
