Today I’ve been thinking about how much energy we spend trying to predict, control or prepare for every possible outcome in life… especially when we’re living with a health condition.

It’s completely natural—we want certainty because it feels safe. And when your body isn’t behaving predictably, or when your health is uncertain, it’s easy to feel like the ground beneath you is shifting. Even the smallest decisions can feel overwhelming. Will I feel well enough today? What will the test results say? How do I plan when I don’t know how I’ll feel?

The truth is… we all live with uncertainty. But when you’re managing a health challenge, that uncertainty often takes centre stage. And that can leave you feeling anxious, helpless, even disconnected from who you used to be.

That’s why this relaxamation is so powerful.

“I Cope with Uncertainty” is designed to help you gently reconnect with your inner strength. To soothe the nervous system. To remind your mind and body that peace is still possible, even in the unknown.

It’s not about ignoring reality. It’s about learning how to stay steady within it. This relaxamation won’t give you all the answers. But it will help you soften your grip on needing them. It will support you in:

  • Managing the stress of unpredictability
  • Gently training your mind to return to calm
  • Building emotional resilience and self-trust
  • And learning to focus on the things you *can* control (Like your breath, your choices, your boundaries and your kindness to yourself

So when you feel lost in the “what ifs,” I invite you to return to this practice. Let it become a gentle ritual, something you can turn to again and again.

Because the more you remind your mind and body that you cope with uncertainty…

The more true it becomes.

And now, let’s begin.

However, before you do, please do not listen to this episode while driving or operating machinery.

If you’re looking for a way to relax, de-stress, and improve your quality of life, a relaxamation might be just what you need. I explain in more detail in my article and podcast, Relaxamations Explained – The Big Calm & The Feel Good Factor.

All you need to do now is get ready to drift off and relax, taking time out for yourself and let any tension float away. Get yourself comfortable at a time when you won’t be interrupted. Set your phone to do not disturb. Press play and place your hands loosely in your lap.

Your affirmations:

Say your affirmations 5 times each as a set. Repeat your set of affirmations at least once a day.
The more you use them the bigger the impact. Add them to a habit that you do every day. While cleaning your teeth, driving, running, walking your dog, washing the dishes, when you first wake up or the last thing at night.

1. I cope with uncertainty
2. I focus on the things I can control
3. I face the unknown with courage and optimism

Your self-reflection questions are:

Use these reflection questions to delve a little deeper and get to know yourself better. You can use them as prompts for journaling, during meditation or just give yourself a few moments of time to consider.

1. How would I rate my tolerance for uncertainty?
2. How can I prepare for unexpected situations?
3. What advice would I give a friend who feels overwhelmed by sudden changes?
